Paul HEDLEY British b. 1947 Paul Hedley was born in 1947 and brought up in Chatham, Kent. He attended Medway College of Art from 1966 - 1968 and then Maidstone College of Art from 1968 - 1971 where was awarded the Diploma in Art and Design. Hedley has been a full time painter since 1976 and is married to the artist Dianne Flynn. His work has been exhibited at the Royal Society of British Artists, the New English Art Club, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the South West Academy of Arts in Bristol and many commercial galleries both in England and overseas. Paul is particularly skilled in depicting female subjects. His paintings show his incredible ability to describe figurative form in the context of good quality and interesting compositions. His brushwork is very decisive and colourful yet the effect is full of intimacy and serenity. |
