Raymond CAMPBELL British b. 1956 Raymond Campbell lives in Surrey, England in a home that is bursting with the objects that feature in his paintings. Along with sculpture and clocks are bowls, vases, ginger jars and jugs of many styles and periods, plates, dishes and trays in bone china, porcelain, pewter, brass and bronze. Campbell is a collector and appreciates many things. He loves to paint items that are of an interesting shape and colour together with being carefully made. His skill as a painter is best seen when these collectable items are linked with fine food, fruit and wine. His works display concern with structure, composition, tonal values and drawing, bringing together a collection of fruit, ceramics, fabric and wine as if gathered for a special occasion. Raymond Campbell's' works have been regularly shown at the Royal Academy 'Summer Exhibition' in London. |
